It has been three years since we decided to start a Swift group in conjuction with the Scarborough Bird Club. We have been undertaking Swift surveys and carrying out various conservation activities such as putting up swift boxes over this period. We have a new event for you in November. To celebrate the life of Pauline Popely who passed away earlier year. Pauline was extremely active in not only the Scarborough Field Nats but also the Whitby and Ryedale Naturalists. To celebrate we are holding a social and quiz evening at the Scarborough Rugby Club in conjunction with Whitby and Ryedale Nats on November 18th starting at 7.30pm. We will be looking for teams to take part and hope that all of you will come and support us even if you do not wish to take part in the quiz.
We have booked our normal room and the bar will be open for refreshments (not a free bar!). We have not laid on other refreshments but food will be available for the café downstairs should anyone feel the need of it.
Our aim is a fun evening and a chance to meet our local naturalists from Ryedale and Whitby. Get the date in your diary and we hope to see you all there. Family and friends will be welcome.
