David McCandless, Chief Inshore Fisheries & Conservation Officer for North Eastern Inshore Fisheries & Conservation Authority will give a brief overview in terms of the background and history of NEIFCA to be followed by one of my Environmental and Scientific Officers who will present on some of our local research and monitoring work.

With so much of our marine wildlife affected by fishing the talk will provide a fascinating insight into the science behind fish stock management.

The River Derwent is one of the regions most important rivers. John Shannon talks about the work going on by various organisations to make sue it stays the way and gets even better.

We are all wary of diturbing birds at nests but Carl Barrymore from the BTO will talk about how important nest recording is and how to get involved. 

Everyone is welcome to this charity talk in memory of the late Mick Carroll who did so much for conservation locally. Andy Rouse is a well known speaker and it should be a good night.
