We will carry out checks on the boxes at Keldy. Meet at Keldy at 10.00am. Packed lunch and stout footwear required plus hard hat if you have one. As before we will be following our biosecurity protocol with masks, gloves etc. Please contact Nick Gibbons if you are interested in attending. We may go on and check the boxes at Cropton afterwards.

Sawdondale

Louise Thompson will lead a walk in the upper part of Sawdondale. Meet at Village Hall at 10am  ( SE9393 8531  or what 3 words Contents.provoking.clock ) where parking is available.

We will be looking out for flowers , birds, insects and anything else. The paths are very steep in places, the dale is often muddy and the path crosses the stream 6 times! Good footwear, +/- stick recommended. Contact Louise Thompson if interested. ( louisejcthompson@gmail.com )

Raincliffe Woods ramble for Bluebells and other things

An evening meeting to see the bluebells in Raincliffe Woods with Louise Thompson. This will be an easy access stroll, maybe going along the footpath across the fields too. Thursday 8th May 7pm, meeting at Raincliffe Gate car park (  SE9949 8885,   awoken.sprouted.birthdays )

YNU meeting Sleightholmedale – Vice County 62 excursion @ SE664890

This is a two day meeting and is non-residential so members can come to either or both days. It is a chance to meet members from other groups. The format on the day depends on what people want but normally people splits into groups to survey a specific area or to look at specific taxa. Beginners and experts mix together as a learning experience. There is an optional meeting Sunday afternoon in a local village hall to discuss and collate the finds.

A chance to get close up to some spectacular sea birds. An accessible walk for everyone. Meet at the RSPB centre at 09.00hrs when Keith Wimbush has offered to guide us round. We will try and car share where possible.

Cetacean watch 20th July

Stuart Baines will lead a cetacean walk for members of the society on the Marine Drive to take place Sunday 20th July, meeting place to be the new Sea Watching Centre.  Start time 10.00 to 12 noon. Weather permitting.
