Dawn Chorus on the cinder track

Meet at the crossing of the cinder track on Hood Lane (TA015955). A chance to brush up on your bird song. There is the option of walking to Hayburn Wyke and back along the track or returning from Hayburn Wyke along the Cleveland Way. The round trip is around 2.3miles. If you want a bacon buttie afterwards you will need to ensure you book with Rob Stark.

Wildlife survey at Staxton nature area

We will be conducting a wildlife survey of the Staxton nature reserve (TA011790) mainly for botany during daylight and then staying on to see what bat activity there is. Contact Louise Thompson or Nick Gibbons if you are interested.

Botany and bat survey – Langdale End – Cancelled – to be re-arranged

We will be doing a botany survey of a couple of meadows at White Lodge farm at Langdale end. The fields are kept ‘rough’ for the nesting barn owls which live there. As it gets dark we will stay and do a point survey to see what bats  are using the area. Contact Louise Thompson or Nick Gibbons if you are interested.
