A chance to do some birding at Tophill Lows and see what is about. We will try and minimise car usage from Scarborough so will try and organise lifts where practical.

Meet at the Maybeck car park (NX892024) for a 9.30 depart. We will be primarily looking for Adders but spring is in the air so anything may happen!

We will be checking the bat boxes again at Dalby. This will be done within IUCN guidelines so protective measures will be required as per last year. Further details on this will be published nearer the date as things are constantly being updated.

Meet at the crossing of the cinder track on Hood Lane (TA015955). A chance to brush up on your bird song. There is the option of walking to Hayburn Wyke and back along the track or returning from Hayburn Wyke along the Cleveland Way. The round trip is around 2.3miles. If you want a bacon buttie afterwards you will need to ensure you book with Rob Stark.

We will be conducting a wildlife survey of the Staxton nature reserve (TA011790) mainly for botany during daylight and then staying on to see what bat activity there is. Contact Louise Thompson or Nick Gibbons if you are interested.

A chance to look at a really floral rich meadow and get to grips with some of the flowering plants. Please book with Rob Stark if you are interested in attending.

We will be doing a botany survey of a couple of meadows at White Lodge farm at Langdale end. The fields are kept ‘rough’ for the nesting barn owls which live there. As it gets dark we will stay and do a point survey to see what bats  are using the area. Contact Louise Thompson or Nick Gibbons if you are interested.
