Join Ginny Leeming for some rock pooling at Crook Ness Meet at the Crook Ness car park at 9.30. The car park is quite small so car sharing if possible. Wear suitable clothing and bring something to collect samples in.
Robert Weatherley has requested some bat data on this proposed LNR. We will carry out a point survey of the site using as many suitable points as possible, hopefully at least 5 covering the open grassland the woodland and also the cut itself. Please let Nick Gibbons know if you are interested in taking part. We will be looking to make sure everyone has a ‘buddy’, especially in the woodland and cut areas, so it is a chance to learn a little about bats even if you do not have a suitable detector.
Our second recorders meeting. Some of the Nats recorders will be bringing us up to date on what has been going on in their respective groups.
The well known ornithologist Mark Pearson will talk on his migration studies.
Our local Whitby Naturalist Wendy English will give us a talk on Plants.
